The US Department of Commerce imposes new restrictions on the export of high-end grinding machines to China

Event: The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the US Department of Commerce has updated its export control list, adding export licensing requirements for high-precision CNC grinding machines (precision ≤ 0.1 microns) and core components from China, involving American companies such as MAG and Hardinge. The Chinese side responded that it will accelerate domestic substitution.

Meaning: The technological blockade has forced the domestic industrial chain to become more independent, and in the short term, it has intensified the pressure on high-end equipment imports.
